What is Electrical?

This course involves training in electrical theory, practice and code. Students are taught the installation and repair of electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Upper-class students actually wire a house. Course leads to a license in this rewarding field.

What do you need to become a licensed Journeyman electrician in Massachusetts?

To become a licensed Journeyman electrician in the state of Massachusetts, applicants need a total of 8,000 working clock hours and the completion of 600 related theory hours.  Students in the Electrical program at Bay Path will receive apprximately 1,500 working clock hours (based on attendance) and 300 related theory hours.  Upon graduation, students will need an additional 6,500 working clock hours, under a licensed electrician, and 300 related theory hours to obtain their Journeyman electrican license.  Bay Path offers an adult education evening program to complete the necessary related theory hours for students to complete the necessary requirements for their licensure.
