What is Cabinetmaking and Architectural Millwork?
The Cabinetmaking and Architectural Millwork department offers complete training to equip all students with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in a variety of careers in the construction industry. Students will be instructed in: the safe use of hand tools, power tools, Programming and operation of ,Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery, kitchen design Computer Aided Design (CAD) design layout and fabrication of furniture and cabinets. Students will have the opportunity to work on various community projects, including the annual house build, non-profits and municipalities, and live work from members located in any of our ten sending towns.
Opportunities Beyond Bay Path
With a Bay Path diploma students will be prepared for the following job opportunities within the field: Cabinet maker/installer, Kitchen designer, Local union apprentice programs, Trade show builder/installer, Rough and finish carpenter, Tile setter, Retail sales/construction supply, Siding installer, Hardwood, Floor Installer, Remodeler.
After graduating from Bay Path, students can also further their education in a two or four year college program to prepare themselves for the following job opportunities within the field: (2 Year College) Estimator, Architectural Design, Engineering, Interior/exterior design, Draftsperson, Construction Management. (4 Year College) Civil/structural engineer, Design engineer, Vocational technical instructor
