What is Business, Entrepreneurship and Marketing?
The Business Technology curriculum consists of business fundamentals including accounting, taxation, entrepreneurship, business communication, banking systems, financial literacy, customer relations, management concepts, data analysis, quality assurance, critical thinking and problem solving, Microsoft Office certification, and QuickBooks certification. The curriculum is taught through practical applications using current office technology, equipment and software projects include, but are not limited to the completion of IRS 1040 tax forms, developing a business plan, maintaining a data source, and producing identification cards and certificates for the Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s Hot Work program, assisting career areas with projects involving organization and file management. Graduates begin careers in a many different areas of business or pursue further education in business, management, finance, marketing, etc.
This is a course in marketing, merchandising, and management. Retail sales skills, display operations, and customer relations in business management are applied in a practical manner in "The Minuteman Shop", a retail outlet open to the public. Students attend national conferences and regional competitions, which sharpen their leadership skills and help prepare the students for a future in the world of marketing.
